Drop-in Centre
Since we opened the centre in July 2006 more than 200 street children have been identified, registered and attended there. The drop-in centre offers an ongoing attendance and able to attend an average of 25 children per day. Street children are offered basic hygiene: taking shower, washing and changing their clothes. They receive psychological and spiritual assistance and at least two meals a day. They also attend in the centre a basic bridging education of literacy and numeracy so that after a while they would be able to go back to the formal education. Older children are offered a labor therapy and vocational training. Children can participate in sport and outdoor activities.
Be VOLUNTEER! We are looking for (pensionist) remedial teachers. One for the morning period and the other one for afternoon. The only way out of the street is through education. | |
